I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist. I use compassion, humor and my personal and professional experience to help individuals and families build on their strengths and help find resolution to a wide range of personal issues. I specialize with anxiety, parenting and workplace stress. I provide individual, couples and family therapy. I have maintained a private practice for the past five years in Connecticut.
I have special expertise working with children, adolescents and adults around issues such as depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), adult children of alcoholics (ACOA), work or school stress, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), blended family issues, relational conflict, parent-child conflict, premarital counseling, marital/couples therapy, infidelity and simply coping with stress of daily life.
Throughout my career in the past 19 years, I have owned and practiced a private practice, I also have experience working in an outpatient community counseling center, extended day, intensive outpatient program, Scott Sells parenting group, intensive in home child & adolescent psychiatric services program (IICAPS) with court based clients. I have also worked in a methadone substance abuse treatment center, group home for adolescent females with behavioral and psychiatric issues. I have extensive experience coordinating with others in the community to ensure services are in place that will support clients so they may successfully function both in the academic and community settings. I have also worked in the behavioral health department for a large insurance company to ensure that members were receiving quality treatment and have solid aftercare treatment plans after stepping down from a higher level of care. I also offer DBT skills training for individuals.
